These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the website theshadeinitiative.org (the "Site"), operated by The Shade Initiative for Cultural and Social Empowerment ("The Shade Initiative," "we," "us," or "our"), a nonprofit organisation registered in Nigeria (CAC No. 9114334), with its registered office at 6A, Ogudu GRA, Lagos, Nigeria. By accessing or using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

You may use the Site for lawful purposes only. You agree not to use the Site in any way that is unlawful, harmful, or that could damage, disable, or impair the Site or interfere with any other party's use of it. You may not attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Site, its systems, or its data.

Unless otherwise stated, all content on the Site — including text, graphics, logos, images, and the name "The Shade Initiative" — is the property of The Shade Initiative or its content providers and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Donations made through the Site are processed securely by our payment provider, Paystack. By making a donation, you confirm that you are authorised to use the payment method provided. Donations support our nonprofit mission and are generally non-refundable.

We understand, however, that genuine errors can occur — such as an incorrect amount being entered, a duplicate charge, or an unauthorised transaction. If you believe a donation was made in error, please contact us at info.theshadeinitiative@gmail.com within 14 days of the transaction, providing the date, amount, and the name or email used. Where we are able to verify a genuine error, we will process a full or partial refund, as appropriate, to the original payment method via our payment provider. Refund requests made outside this period may be considered at our discretion.

The Site may contain links to third-party websites or services (such as our payment processor or social media pages) that we do not control. We are not responsible for the content, policies, or practices of any third-party sites. Accessing them is at your own risk, and we encourage you to review their terms and privacy policies.
